Hello Bunny

Hello (wave wave), yes you, I'm waving hello to you!!!

A reverse letterpress inked EF (mag freebee), a Bugaboo image coloured with Copics, Tim Holtz diecut stacked senti and sparkly sequins.  What more could a rabbit want?

Hoppy Friend

I've been trying to use up stuff that sits in a box on my desk - this card used the image panel (From The Heart Stamps digi image) and the inked embossed panel.  I only had to diecut the mat and butterflies from stash.  The image is coloured with pencils, the butterflies with a touch of Stickles.  The label die is mPress and the diecut butterflies drop-outs from a Crafters Companion die. EF is Couture Creations.

Dear Friend Daisy

I'm enjoying working with square cards and here is another.  Firstly I painted a background panel with metallic watercolour paints in pink and orange, but it looked a bit wishywashy (it did leave shimmer though), so I got out the Gelli plate and did some DI inking with a stencil on top.  The diecut daisies are placed on a hot pink tag panel with punched corners because the white daisies got a bit lost in the background.  The sentiment is typed on the computer and stacked.  Inky dotty doodles made with black pen and silver pen to give some contrast as it still looked a bit, well, bland.  The good thing about using stencils with the Gelli plate is I get a couple of decent prints out of it for another project.  At the moment I'm liking the bigger borders too.

No Rain, No Flowers

A spring card. Or maybe an autumn card?  A Tim Holtz diecut, a Cuttlebug EF, watercolour metallic paints, washi tape, sakura gel pen.

For the man, I watercoloured card in gradients then splattered in grey and red, and diecut when dry.  This is from an old Tim Holtz Bigz die, one of my really early die buys, probably 15 or more years old.  The background is an embossing folder that looks a bit like rain; spritzed with water and painted with the watercolour metallics and let run, when dry cut on a slight angle to represent rain.  The man and senti is popped up on foam tape. Rain is Sakura Gelly Roll pen: Clear Star (difficult to photograph to get the sparkle).

See the sparkle

Lacy Rainbow

Pastels, not what I would normally work with, but I'm experimenting with my metallic watercolours and they are sometimes bold, sometimes soft.

I painted a rainbow panel using the metallic watercolours (lovely sparkly sheen) and when dry, diecut with this lacy die.  Embossed a white panel with Cuttlebug scripty writing and matted it with patterned paper with the tones of the rainbow in a soft floral.  The sentiment is layered and diecut in a sage green.  I tried a lot of combinations for the sentiment but pale colours looked wrong, so did bolder colours.  I decided on a rainbow of pearls to finish.

Hip Hop Bunnies

This was an experiment using acrylic pouring paint on canvas.  I spent a morning playing and then later didn't know what to do with them.  Inspiration arrived in the form of Tim Holtz bunnies!  These bunnies have to make you smile they are so full of life and joy.  They are stacked with several black diecuts to pop them out from the busy background and create shadow.  I think this would be great for a kids room.

HB to You

A cuttlebug embossing folder for the background with blue metallic watercolour painted just at the top, a flower die cut from previously smooshed card, a stamped sentiment and some pearls.  Oh yes, and a little gold inset flower centre.

You are the Cats Meow

Critters are the focus of our challenge over at Critter Crazy, here:  crittercrazy

Here is your chance to show off your critter/s - anything goes as long as the critter is the FOCUS!

A ink edged diecut tag with the stamped cat takes centre stage here, and I purposely coloured it un-cat colours with Copics.  The background is a Sizzix EF lightly brushed with DI's in the same colour range, and embellished with faceted gems to reflect the colours.  Tag popped up on foam tape, bow to finish.

A great card for someone who needs a bit of encouragement.

Does anyone know the brand of the cat stamp?  I did know but have forgotten.

Beautiful Life

This is a card made from an ancient set of ephemera (just unearthed in a cleanup, likely 15-20 years old).  Lovely paper strips, sentiments and butterflies.   About time I used it - the glue had evaporated off the back!  But isn't it pretty?  Snippety strips put together into a background panel.

It was in an unmarked cellophane pocket so is likely to be a magazine freebee.  There were three 5 x 5" sheets.  The hearts are drop-outs from a die, sentiment popped up on on foam tape, organdy ribbon.

Citrus Cheers

I love working with analogous colours and citrus is perfect.  I used a stencil and Distress Inks, with interference gold and black splatter. The drink is Memory Box cut from white sparkle card.  The lime is inked and has Opal Dust for the juicy sparkle.  The sentiment is cut from pearlescent card and stacked with black for a shadow.

The temperature here is about 27 deg C and I'd like a cool drink right about now!

UR Amazing

Most families have someone who is amazing at some time in their life.  This is for that person.

I stamped & diecut the image & sentiment, coloured with Copics.  Stencilled background with DI's, black paint splatter.  Image & senti popped up on foam tape.  Highlights in white pen.

Floral Spinner

Not my usual style, but now and then I like to get out of the box.  This is way outside my box.

The PPaper is double sided so I used it for the flowers as they look the same when they spin. I also used it as a panel behind the flower topper. The leafy bits were diecut from snippets of leftover card from the bitz box on my desk.  Leaves and flower edges softly inked.  I have made this fold a couple of times just because it's fun to make.

Oval dies: Spellbinders

Flower Die: unknown

Congratulations Driver

A grandson has just got his driver licence ... he is so happy.  They live out in the country, and he has school and activities in town, so it means a bit more freedom for parents too!  There is no bus service where they live.  The whole card is designed around where they live in green fields with a picket fence.

A green base card, green DI stamped sentiment, Tim Holtz diecut fence, car stamped (magazine freebee) onto snippet of smooshed card, popped up on foam tape.  Copics to finish.  Gold pen handwritten Brmm brmm.

Pinky Thanks

Very pink; not my usual colour choice at all.  The image (an oldie but a goodie woodie) is out of my Bitz box and is from Penny Black, coloured with watercolour paints (cheap kids set).  Background pinprick panel is MFT.  Sentiment in pink and grey, stacked.  All popped up on foam, ribbon to tie it all together!
